Stealth Camp

Ages 9-14

Stealth Camp is offered at two locations:

Stealth Camp at Stevens Creek

Embark on a journey to discover the excitement of scouting in the great outdoors. In this week-long camp, students will learn the art of stealth, tracking, awareness, and information gathering as they explore the woods with their instructors.

Beginning with developing skills of observation using “owl-eyes, deer-ears, and fox-walk”, students will use their senses to participate in exciting games and activities. Scouting games will not only increase their ability to more closely observe their surroundings, but will foster teamwork and an appreciation of nature.

Some activities include: tracking, drum stalks, camouflaged capture the flag, basic survival skills, string walks, “sneaky weasel”, scout crossing, and other games. Scouting achieves its purpose of helping young people develop physically, intellectually, and socially as we look at the world through the eyes of animals.

Safety Alert: In this summer camp we teach students how to use carving knives (Moraknives brand) and other tools to work on projects. The Riekes Center has a Knife Safety Certification that will be taught on the first day of camp to ensure that knife use is as safe as possible. This being said, injuries can happen. All Riekes instructors are equipped with first aid kits and are CPR/First Aid certified. Our safety protocols indicate that should a student cut themselves at camp, instructors are to contact parents IF the cut needs greater treatment than can be provided by a bandaid.

Time: 9:00am-3:00pm

Cost: $525

Dates: July 29 - Aug 2
