At the Riekes Center, our Digital Art Camp is where technology meets traditional artistry. This program is designed for students of all skill levels who want to transition their drawing skills to the digital canvas. In a supportive and creative environment, campers learn how to use digital tools to bring their artistic visions to life.

Instruction & Digital Skills

Our instructors provide expert guidance as students explore the vast possibilities of digital media. Using professional drawing tablets and art software, campers develop a strong foundation in digital illustration. Throughout the week, students will explore:

• Software Mastery: Learning the essentials of layers, custom brushes, and digital color theory.

• Character & World Building: Designing original characters and immersive environments.

• Technical Techniques: Learning shading, perspective, and digital composition to create original artwork.

Advanced Skill Development

For more experienced artists, we offer the opportunity to dive deeper into specialized interests. Whether it’s exploring concept art for games or refining professional digital workflows, advanced campers receive specialized mentorship to elevate their particular skillset.

Health & Well-being

While we focus on the art of the digital canvas, we prioritize our students' health. To ensure students aren't sitting in front of a screen all day, we incorporate regular stretch breaks throughout the day. These breaks are essential for keeping students refreshed, active, and energized.

Carry The Momentum Forward

This camp is scheduled back-to-back with our 2D Animation Camp so that characters and worlds created here can be brought to life through movement in the following week. At the end of the week, every student will have a digital portfolio of their work to share with friends and family.

Advanced Teen Internships

Experienced teen animators (15+) can apply to be a Visual Arts Intern. You’ll work with our staff to help campers in this camp and more.
